Microblading

Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, feather touch and 3D eyebrows, is a form of semi-permanent makeup that adds missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments.

Microblading is performed by manually depositing pigment superficially in the upper layer of the skin. It is different than a traditional tattoo in that pigment is deposited in the upper layer of the skin using a manual tool rather than a machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Individual brow hairs are drawn using a handtool and a very fine blade. The pigment is inserted into each hair stroke creating very realistic eyebrow hairs.  The treatment is carried out under strict hygiene conditions. All reusable material is sterilized after each treatment and all single-use material is disposed of.

What happens during the appointment?

First the eyebrows are measured to determine the perfect shape. Then a topical numbing cream is applied which takes approximately 30 minutes to take effect. During this time we discuss the aftercare and any other concerns you may have. We then microblade the eyebrows and during the procedure another liquid numbing solution is used which is able to better penetrate the skin thereby reducing discomfort even further. After the procedure the eyebrow area is cleaned and aftercare is applied.

Does it hurt?

The level of discomfort varies from person to person, however, a numbing cream is used prior and during the procedure to minimize discomfort.

How long does it take?

Normally the entire appointment is 2 hours however, much of that time is spent prepping the skin, discussing the after care and determining the perfect shape. This is a form of semi-permanent makeup and your satisfaction is of utmost importance to me so the appointment is never rushed and I will take the time required to achieve the best possible result.

Do I need to provide the desired shape before the appointment?

We will work together during the appointment to create the perfect shape for you taking into consideration the ideal eyebrow shape to complement your features.

How do I maintain my new eyebrows?

Full maintenance instructions and a kit will be provided during your appointment. For best results it is extremely important that you adhere to the post-treatment care instructions.

How long is the healing period?

It depends from person to person. Generally it takes 7 to 10 days for the skin to heal and as mentioned above for best results and quickest healing it is important that you take care of your eyebrows during this period. The eyebrows will be considered fully healed after 4 - 6 weeks. At this time a touch up appointment is necessary (and is included in the initial price).

How long will it last?

Results vary from person to person and depend on many factors such as your skin type and aftercare during the healing period. Pigment will fade over time but generally microbladed eyebrows will last 1 to 2 years.
